Ms. Bowman was admitted to the bar in 1987, and began practicing civil litigation, primarily insurance defense, with the law firm of Ranitz, Mahoney, Forbes and Coolidge, in the areas of casualty, professional malpractice, and worker's compensation. In 1991, she left Ranitz, Mahoney, Forbes and Coolidge in Savannah, Georgia to form Forbes and Bowman in Savannah, Georgia. As a named partner in Forbes and Bowman, Catherine continued practicing insurance defense law, focusing on professional malpractice and healthcare. Shortly after Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was amended, Catherine Bowman began to practice Employment Law as well, originally as an attorney for the Employee, and then expanding her practice to include working on behalf of the Employer. As insurance companies began to write more employment practices policies, insurers employed Catherine to represent their insured Employers, as well. On April 1, 2007, Catherine Bowman opened The Bowman Law Office in Savannah, Georgia, continuing to focus her practice on insurance defense and employment law. Catherine Bowman has been active in many legal organizations. She has been a member of the Savannah Bar Association since becoming an attorney, treasurer for 2011-2012; serving on the Board of Directors, and was the President of the Younger Lawyer's Section in 1996-1997; she has also been on various committees for the Bar, including doctor/lawyer; grievance, and was the chair of the New Lawyers Orientation committee in 2007. Catherine Bowman has been a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association since she began to practice law. Catherine Bowman was the Chair of the Employment Law Committee in 2007 and has contributed a number of articles to their newsletters. Catherine is also a member of two invitation only organizations - the American Employment Law Council and the International Association of Defense Counsel. She is a contributor to the Employment Committee Newsletter. In 2008, Ms. Bowman became of counsel to a Jacksonville insurance defense firm Boyd & Jenerette (http://www.boyd-jenerette.com/) with the intent of building Boyd & Jenerette's Georgia presence. Catherine Bowman was chosen by her peers, as one of Georgia Trends 2011's Legal Elite in the area of Employment Law. AMANDA J. LOVE (ALove@TheBowmanLawOffice.com) graduated with honors from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2004 and graduated with honors from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2006. While in law school, Ms. Love was a Board Member of the FCSL Law Review, was recognized as a Dean's Scholar recipient every semester, and received numerous Academic Excellence awards including Legal Writing, Property, and Contracts. Ms. Love also received several performance based awards including Best Oralist in Legal Writing II and Best team in Trial Practice. Amanda Love was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2007 and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2009. She is a member of the State of Georgia Family Law Division, Savannah Bar Association, and a member of the State of Georgia's Young Lawyer's Division Leadership Academy. She is the philanthropy chair of the Younger Lawyers Division of the Savannah Bar Association. Ms. Love focuses her practice on Family Law, Employment Law, and Insurance Defense.
